trailer lug nut torque setting?

I went through the manual on my jayco jayflight 267bhsw to see what the specs were for torqueing down the lug nuts on my tires. I found a range...100-115 pounds...

was wondering if its better to max out or hit it in the middle...what do others torque down their tire lug nuts to?

The torque wrench I have only goes to 100lbs (my old pop up had 90lb requirement) so I might have to get a bigger torque wrench

I am about to make first trip so I want to get the torque right, and I will pull over every 50 miles for the first 200 to make sure they are still tight as I am anal LOL...I remember the first trip on the pop up they DID loosen a tad on that first trip

IMO, anywhere in the range they specify (100-115ft lbs) is great. Just keep doing the checking that you are doing... and keep your current torque wrench . Realistically, you are probably WAY ahead of the majority of RVers.

If you have aluminum rims you best not to over tighten them. I run them tight until I hear one squeak then one more short grunt.

I have never, on any car or trailer in 35 years, torqued any wheel. I have never warped an alloy wheel, I have never had loose lug nuts.

Yes, there are torque specs. That's part of the engineering process. If I replace the heads on my truck, then I will torque the bolts. But for pretty much everything else, there is not real need.

Check them after the first 50 or 100. No real need to check them again except just before your next trip.

this is exactly what I did on my pop up before I got the torque wrench and it seemed to work

most of our friends look at me and say "torque wrench...really" lol
for me its just piece of mind

I'd check them as part of dewinterization each year. It takes five minutes. I had to significantly re-torque at least two lug nuts on each wheel of my X23B. I also checked air pressure as part of the preflight.

air pressure is always checked pre flight LOL
**** id do it before the drive home if I could fit the air compressor somewhere LOL
