You really have to release the sideways tension on the springs and shackles. Blocking the tires when you have backed in at a hard angle won't stop the front of the trailer from moving sideways when you un hitch. The easiest way is to back in a bit farther than needed then just ease it back forward until your where you want it. This will release the tension in the springs that you put on by backing in at a hard angle. Remember to go just a little past what you want then let it ease forward. If you have to move a lot forward you will just tension the springs the other way.

Thanks guys. Lots of good ideas.

What would be perfect is stackable rubber pads. This way the jack foot would sink into it ever so slightly.

Wood might be the best ideas guess. Maybe it’s time to start a project. I just can’t believe the PERFECT solution hasn’t been invented yet.

When you make your stack maybe put spikes on the bottom one so it digs into the ground. Then put bolts on the next one up that it fits into holes on the one below it. Then route a recess on the top one so the entire stack locks together. You could make the stack 2 or 3 feet wide for stability.

I do what Duke4857 does, neutral and break release....only problem is on level ground (might not move) or a hump site (truck on one side and trailer on the other), truck/trailer won't move do to balanced each side, until you disconnect.
As far as Eagleback - agreed the tight turn torque needs to be out of the axles. but what was the reason for your sideways movement, a torqued axle? or did you trailer move to the side because the wheel chock on that side had some movement. Even settling 1/2 to 1 inch at one tire/side will move your tongue inches sideways due to the pivot point and how far you tongue is from the tires.
