Trailer Valet

I have a 08 29'D Jayfeather and need to park the trailer next to my house and need to drive on the lawn to get it there. With the truck every time the ruts get deeper and cause me more grief. I dont want to put down gravel or any hard surface material so i want a trailer mover. I bought the plans to build one myself from the guy on ebay (search trailer mover hd) but after looking them over the thing is going to cost me around $350. I found a manual mover called the trailer valet that is rated for 5,000lbs and 500lb toungue weight.

Anyone here use one of these movers if so how do you like it? I like the portability of it it would be great at the camp site as well.

How many friends do you have? Are they strong? That is a heavy trailer, pulling it and pushing it around can be very hard on level hard pavement. On grass, I would bet nearly impossible push around with only one or two people.

Have you considered permeable pavers? My neighbor had the same issue and laid a couple tracks of them then planted grass over the top. When driving by you can hardly see the pavers, looks like one uninterrupted lawn, but he us now able to drive on it with out creating grooves

Also, I am under the impression those movers don't work well on grass, it's too slick.

I have to agree with jagiven unless you are friends with Hercules forget about a manual one on grass, it is hard enough to move an RV on pavement.

I use a Power Mover AC-8 to move my boat trailer in and out of my garage up a slight incline paved driveway. The AC-8 has 4 wheels. If you want to move a trailer over the grass, get the most wheels you can afford. I have been using the Power Mover for a few years now and wouldn't hesitate to buy again or recommend. I wasn't taking a picture of the power mover, but you can see it in the front of the trailer. It has a mount that attaches and then there is a metal piece that slides in and out of the mount for attachment when moving.
