Travel from Yellowstone to Glacier

Hi All,

We will be going out west this summer and a couple of our stops takes us to Headwaters Camp Ground at Flagg Ranch then up to West Glacier. I was wondering if anyone would suggest a route from Headwaters to Glacier? This will be during the month of June and I also don't know the road conditions. I would like to just go north on Hwy 191 and work my way to West Glacier, however my maps have me headed south and around Yellowstone. To me that would add several hours to my day. It will already be a long haul for one days drive. We have never been up in that area and any help would be greatly appreciated. We have been all over Colorado, Utah and other places out west but this will be our first trip the Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier.

Thanks in advance and happy travels,
Oscar

It may be routing you that way now because Craig Pass is often late to open and can close with spring snows.

We've been on the Beartooth Highway in July when snow was falling. Fortunately we were just day tripping and not towing. There were several Class As and TT pulled over and waiting.

There are also 2 major road construction projects this year from south entrance to Old Faithful that will cause major delays.

Ok thank you!!!! I wasn’t sure what the deal was. I figured maybe the road was still closed. But I’m also worried about the construction and crowds. Hopefully all the crowds will dwindle lol
