Travel Trailer Storage

So my best friend is on the edge of purchasing a TT. He is concerned with storing his TT, bus he'd like to not break the bank doing so.

I'd like to see if you good folks have any ideas for shaving cost for RV storage.

I just park mine in my driveway. I know someone who stores his in a large warehouse but $300/ month is too pricey for me.

I store mine at my house that I bought last spring. We have a gravel pad on the side of the driveway that the previous owner put in for his TT. We store our there, unfortunately I found our that their is a bylaw prohibiting RV parking from Oct to April in any part of the property that extends beyond the front of the house. We are going to continue parking our TT on our property irregardless, I have spoken with my neighbours and they are all RV friendly. I do not want to take a chance of having our TT broken in to or stolen at a storage facility.

It varies in my area from $1-$2 per foot....covenants don't allow TT parked in my neighborhood (and I'm perfectly OK w/ that)

I store mine in a lot for $50/month. The same lot owner has another lot farther away from the city for $40/month...he charges based on the length of the trailer but that's what I pay for 29'. Try a search on Criagslist (under housing > parking and storage) and you might find a good deal from an individual.

A lot of the boat dealerships have storage areas available. We were able to rent one for $55/month. Close enough to the house so we can check on it and load and unload without a long trip.

I store mine at a mini-storage that also offers RV storage. They have undercover parking for RV's and you pay by the foot. My x20e is $75/month.

Outside storage around here runs $40-60. No indoor (RV specific) storage available around here that I know of. We're out in the sticks though. My brother lives in the big city and stores his Kart trailer and a Miata inside a unit with a tall door (12wx14hx28l), for $155/mo.

I pay $40 per month for gated outside storage 3 miles from the house. No inside storage available around here. He might ask a friend or neighbor that has a barn/polebarn, something of that nature that he could rent. That would probably be cheaper than a storage facility. They're lots of Flea Markets in this area[not used in winter] and I see some trailers parked there.
