Trekker sway hitch

anybody have experience with this WDH/sway hitch? Tow is 2011 F-150 w/factory towing setup, coil over shocks; hitch is e2, trailer is 2020 237RBS.

Hensley is probably out of my price range.

got a white knuckle drive last weekend between wind, big trucks & narrow lanes on I-10 east of Houston (construction).

I'm ready to do something about this.

Your experience could be related to one/or more of a number of possible issues..., just a couple of thoughts:

* TT 'loaded' ideal tongue weight should be 13% to 15% of gross weight, and TT towing level or a little nose down (not up).

* WDH not rated properly. The 237RBS has a GVWR of 6,500lbs, thus a worst case scenario 'loaded' to GVWR = 845lb to 975lb (13% to 15%) loaded tongue weight range. The 237RBS should have a WDH with a tongue weight rating of 1,000lbs.

* Possible the E2 (2 point sway control) isn't adequate under your TV/TT loaded conditions, thus a properly sized E4 (4-point sway control) style WDH may be more effective.

Just food for thought......,

A 3-pass CAT scale visit will confirm all your weights and WDH adjustment:

ps: There are those heavy wind conditions that even the best matched TV/TT/WDH can experience TV handling issues.

Who setup your hitch? Have you checked the setup yourself? Is the trailer level or slightly low in the front…1-2” ?

How to do a quick check to see if the hitch is properly setup:

Put a piece of tape on the front fender somewhere above the center of the front tire with the trailer completely disconnected. Put a mark on the tape with a pencil. Measure the distance from the ground to the mark and record it. Connect the loaded, ready to travel trailer to your truck. Remeasure from the ground to the mark you made on the tape. If your setup is correct the measurement should be within a couple of inches of your recorded measurement, ideally within an inch of less. If it’s not, follow the instructions and do it again.

I have the same hitch and it’s the best hitch I have ever used. Crosswinds, passing trucks never cause my trailer to sway. Good luck…

dealer set up hitch; slight front lean from trailer/down in back on truck, but not much;
don't carry water in trailer tank, not much cargo in truck bed

You need to get your setup weighed and verify the tongue weight is within Spec. Also, when you’re hooked up make sure your “Set Bolt” is properly tightened.

Verify your setup by the steps I listed above as well.

Try filling your TV tires up to the maximum allowed on the sidewall.
