trouble connecting wd bars unless car and tt PERFECTLY parallel?

Last trip, sites weren't very long, narrow road, cars parked across road...I could not get truck straightened out...not a huge deal disconnecting, but sunday when I was leaving, again the truck was on an angle to the tt, and one wd was no problem, the other I could NOT get the required link even close to the connection...I had to pull out into the road and then connect it

does this sound right...I imagine its pretty common in tight spots you cant get the tv and tt perfectly parallel...

Sounds right. Our last trip, something similar happened. The site was low and to the left. I disconnected the WDH then put the TT in place. The truck was so contorted on the slope, there was no way I was unhitching everything in the site. I also hitched completely up when I yanked her out onto the main drag.

I had spots like that. I just yank it out best I can and attach the bars where I have room and the truck and TT are aligned and level..Its not a big deal to ride a bit without the bars.

May depend on which WDH; you don't mention which one you have.

I've notice my Blue Ox SwayPro is harder to disconnect on one side when the TV is at an angle. But I've yet to try to hook up at an extreme angle.

Makes sense to me, I don't see it as an issue. Just drop it on the ball and wait till you can get it parked straighter to hook up the bars.

This is what I've done in the past. Takes a bit longer, but it works.

I did read somewhere that if you have issues getting your WDH hooked up, to crank your trailer up a little with the jack.
Yeah that would have saved me almost an hour of aggravation had I read that BEFORE our first trip with our new camper...
