Trying to Locate Converter on 2011 Jayco 256 RKS

Hi, We have a 2011 Jayco 256 RKS travel trailer. I think I have a problem with the converter, but so far, much to my surprise, I have been unable to locate it!

I have looked behind the breaker panel, also, inside the lower back corner kitchen cabinets where the blower for the furnace plus the area that the shore line power cable pushes into are both located, and so far have been unable to find the converter.

Does anyone know where the converter might be in this Jayco model?

I have a 2013 266RKS and mine is under the stove close to the floor. The 12v section is the part on the left if you pull the cover off. There are progressive dynamic converters on Amazon for $193

Every converter I have seen is integrated into the power distribution panel. You may want to locate the model number of that panel and google the manual.

Thank you both for your prompt responses. Much appreciated!

Below is a pic of my breaker and fuse panel pulled partway out of the area just below the stove. Is the converter part of this unit? I thought the converter was a completely separate item.

There is nothing behind this breaker and fuse panel other than lots of wiring.

Yep, converter is on the left, where the fan sits.

I have a 2011 too, and that looks just like my Progressive Dynamics converter. Why do you think there's a problem with it?

Well, the issue I'm having is that everything 12V works when plugged into shore power and also when plugged into the truck, but nothing works when the RV is not plugged into anything. I don't know for sure that the converter is causing the issue, but I thought I would start there.

That sounds more like a battery issue or blown fuse. I would start there. With your description the wiring and converter are working fine.

Thank you. No blown fuses. I checked them all carefully. Batteries were OK last time I checked them, but I will check them again tomorrow.

I think the three main fuses to check would be the fuse closest to battery, and the pair of reverse polarity fuses plugged into the power converter.

I agree that it's probably a battery or fuse problem, or wiring issue. The converter is working correctly, converting 120vac to 12vdc and feeding it to the trailer. And it's taking the 12vdc from the truck and and feeding it to the trailer. But it's not "seeing" the 12vdc from the trailer's battery.

Here's a link to a troubleshooting guide from Progressive Dynamics. Not sure if it's same as your model, but it might help you.

Great, thanks. I will check all that out. The Troubleshooting Guide looks to be very helpful.
