I read this thread and then got curious. One thing is safety, another is "what happens" and how do we recover. Interested in what an insurance company has to say.

i was a carpenter, also worked in the semi-conductor industry and designed pneumatic products for "explosive" environments. While I agree with the "old-timers" on the very small element of risk, I wonder what would have happened in the numerous "Travel Trailer accident videos" if the propane leaked and ignited. I don't have a lot of experience yet, but traveling with an open gas line (propane) just seems a bit on the risky side. I am speaking only of travel trailers as I am guessing that Motor Homes have much stricter regulations in how propane hoses are run/protected. In addition, on the Geico site:
https://www.geico.com/information/safety/rv/, it states that one of the most common causes of RV accidents is from leaking propane. Not clear of the RV's are sitting or moving, but they site it as a common cause.
