Turn off fridge when refuel TV ?

I always turn off my fridge when it's on propane before I pull into pumps to fill up TV. Just wondering how many of you do the same ? Do I need to ?

As Grumpy mentioned, if you search this forum you'll find several threads on this one (at least), and my summary of all that reading is that the consensus is No, people generally don't shut off their propane.

I don't either.

I don't either but have a vague memory that it may be required in a few states. I think going thru tunnels is the same situation.

I do not. On multiple occasions I sat within yards of a refueling point while Blackhawk helicopters were being refueled WHILE they were running....I think I'm ok fueling up my truck with the fridge on.

Never thought about it that way.

Always refuelled the F-8s and the F-4s with their engines running too.

We don't shut ours down and that decision was based on the views and experience gleaned through the forum. Our fridge is on the opposite side of our tank and we always try to use the outside pump.

I used to but my ref is on the opposite side of truck fuel point and on the back corner of the 5er, so I don't anymore.

Jet fuel and avgas are very different.
Diesel fuel is one thing..... Gasoline is another! Just so everyone understands that. I will not fuel up my gas tank with my gas engine running.

I must admit I don't know why this is an issue. Obviously I am in the " do not " camp.

Little off topic, but I thought Black Hawk used a GE turbine, they all run on JP fuels which are jet fuels not av gas.

PS: auto ignition temp for jet fuel is lower than gasoline.

34 years of trailer pulling and "they" say to turn off the fridge when re-fueling. Have I? No, I have not. I think if it were a dry cold winter and I pulled into a service station for fuel, after I got the usual spark when getting out of my tow rig, I might think about turning it off just in case the igniter went of at the wrong time.

I don't know of any state laws on this subject. And I'm among the "don't turn it off" crowd. As a couple of others have pointed out, my fridge is on the opposite side from the TV's gas cap. Not only that, but my TT is usually sticking way out beyond the pumps. Frankly, not worried about it.

Yes, Black Hawks are turbine and use Jet Fuel. That is why they can run them while refueling.
