TV Mounting

What mounting screws is everyone using to mount the wall bracket to the wall? I've got to get a TV mounted in bedroom for those rainy day movie watching days in my 22FB. They can't be too long w/o penetrating through the other side of the thin wall. Wifey would kill me if this happened!!! I'm guessing I can get a wall mount at Wal-Mart?

WalMart mounts are overpriced. Look at monoprice.com or on Amazon. Once you order a mount and it comes in, take one of the long screws in the lit and go to Lowes or Home Depot and match in the head size but get a shorter length screw. I think I used 1" screws in my TT.

Assuming you are looking at 21-24" you can get a good mount from Amazon in the $10.00 neighborhood. I would use 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" screws. You should be able to measure the thickness of the wall you are mounting to and use the longest screw you can without going thru the other side of the wall.

I would not recommend attaching a TV to an outside wall unless your TT came with a decal on the wall with mounting location. Studs are too hard to locate accurately even with the best stud finders. I just mounted mine in my out door kitchen on an interior wall using the Road American MRV3500 detachable mount. The stud was fairly easy to locate and was able to reinforce the back with another stud. Using 1.5" screws will not hold even a 24" TV for very long with that short of screw. TT bounce, vibrate a lot more than you think going down the road. I would strongly consider an interior wall if available so it can be reinforced through the back side. W

For the bedroom, we are going to use a TV from the house that will move to and from the trailer. I plan to install one of these mounts Snap-In Mount, Rigid - MORryde Products Just snap the TV out and put it on the bed while traveling and take it back to the house after the trip. It will not have to endure the constant bouncing and vibration.

Thanks to all for the great input. My plan was to mount on interior wall where factory has backing (sticker marks the spot!). I do like the removable snap-in mount tbwill, that's really nice!
