Undercoating underside of trailer

I have a Jay Flight G2 31rks TT and am thinking about using spray undercoating to seal and protect the exposed frame and trailer parts under it. I would NOT do plastic tanks, pipes, etc. but under wheel wells and the trailer frame itself I thought about doing. Has anyone done this or know of anyone who has, and if so, was it a positive thing to do? It certainly seems like good idea????

Undercoating helps seal the corrosion in. You'll never see a car rot out like one that has been undercoated.

I agree for cars... but travel trailers? 5th Wheels?..... ok if you drive them a lot on slush, snow, salty roads... but the summer use...

Had one for 5 years.... when I traded it in, no signs of rust.... actually my 3yr old Sierra undercoated against rust, was showing 3 times more rust than the TT had!

I think this is more of a dealer scam to get some money out of your pockets more than anything!

I don't think you'll gain much. Once I start seeing rust on a trailer frame I just sand it lightly and hit it with Rustoleum.

Paint before it starts to rust. Once the rust sets in you've lost the battle.

I undercoated our camper for 1 main reason and that wasn't rust. I used Mouse-free to keep the mice out as we had them last spring. We'll see if it works this spring. The Mouse-free also works as an undercoating/lubricant as our camper had been towed in the salt/slush/sand/snow and was never properly cleaned. It was horribly rusty for a new camper (we never noticed until after we got it home). The Mouse-free is still waxy-wet to the touch and I did it late last summer.
