using power tongue jack to assist in equalizer hitch

Sorry if this has been answered, I searched but could not find anything.
I get my trailer next week and was wondering if I can use the power tongue jack to raise the unit enough to help in snapping in the equalizer hitch to the right setting.
Thanks
Grantt

Welcome to the forum, grantstoo! Yes you certainly can use the tongue jack to raise your trailer and truck in order to make engaging and disengaging the WD system much easier. A real good reason to get a power tongue jack!

Crabman already answered you but that's how I raise my truck and trailer to make putting the chains on sooooooo much easier.

I just traded my 2002 Itasca motorhome in on a 2012 Jayflight 26RLS so I'm brand new to the Jayco family.
Browsing through this forum sure has impressed me!

I also use my tongue jack, hand crank and now electric, to raise the tongue of the trailer to attach the chains.

I've discovered it makes the whole hook-up MUCH easier. I back the TV into position as guided by my wonderful bride. After she gets the ball captured and locked she continues by getting the bars into position while I am getting the tire covers and chocks off.
Next to the wedding ring the electric tongue jack has been my best purchase.

We have an electric tongue jack and use it to help make the equalizer hitch much easier to put the bars on. We have the same TT you do and it works great.

Sallie does all the technical stuff like guiding me back to hook up and then running the up and down button.

Welcome to the forum.

We did the same as you, sold our 2006 Jayco Senaca and bought a 2012 Jayco White Hawk 31'. We are enjoying the less stress RVng. I am sure you will too.

The dealer showed me to do what you said using the power jack to install the equalizer bars.

If you get an electric you will love it. I have had a 6 year old raise and lower the tongue for me.

Installing my electric tongue jack this weekend. Can't wait! I don't know if the 32BHDS 2000lb manual crank is standard for all from factory, but it wears me out. I have to take a break after cranking it each way.

Once you've got the electric on, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Between that and a cordless drill for the stabilizer jacks, life is good.

Electric jack was mandatory on the new Jayco. And for the very reason we are talking about. EJ was money well spent!
