We are now on our third choice... and yes it takes more room than the previous two, but it served us well with 3-big dogs in our rig on a 4.5 month trip last winter.

We've installed one of these in each of our motorhomes and prefer it over others;

I have found that many of the indepentants that wash trailers in the camp grounds also offer interior vacuuming whether you have it washed by them or not. It's usually $10-15 at the most and I tip $5, it's one less thing sitting in my TT that gets used half way thru a 2 month outting.

We use a shark rocket and love it. Good suction in a small format. We bought a Dyson V8 animal and love that too - cordless and plenty of power but that one stays at home.

Vacuum

Our unit came with a built in vacuum. Doesn’t really work that well and a pain for the DW to haul around the hose and attachments. So, I got a Dyson stick vac that she loves and it works great. A little spendy but worth it. We still use the built in vacuum’s dust pan which is nice.

I hate to say it, but I'm in the same boat as Tom...sortof! I got tired of having to use my shopvac to clean out the in-house vac. We bought a cordless Shark vacuum from Costco and haven't looked back since. It's been really handy.

Dyson cordless animal model with the extended wand...no idea how we lived without it with two dogs and a 13 year old. Worth every penny!

We have been using a BLACK+DECKER MAX Lithium 20-volt - Cordless for a couple years and absolutely LOVE it.

This is what we had in our last RV. Works great but takes up wall space I don't have in the new RV (plus our battery was pretty well trashed).

This is what I replaced the Dyson with.

Pros and cons to both.

Dyson is far more portable and they seem to have worked out the issues the earlier models had. Dyson does need a place to mount the charger and store the vacuum. If you don't keep your RV plugged in most of the time then you'll ruin the battery on the Dyson as well. We have power in our storage facility so this wasn't an issue till I let it sit for a month at the house not plugged in. Dyson will work when not plugged in as long as the battery is charged.

Dirt Devil has a LOT of suction. And is better suited to the layout in my new trailer, makes better use of it's space. But it requires you to be have 110 to work. The model I have doesn't have brushes for carpet like the Dyson, so that's a negative but we don't have enough carpet to worry. Dyson is easier to empty as well and don't have to carry bags.

You can't go wrong with either. We've had others and these are by far the two best we've had and I think that while they have different pros and cons they are pretty equal. But given the choice I'd pick the Dyson if I had a decent place to mount it.

We had one at home but it died after about 18 months. A family member's Rocket bought at the same time is still going strong after two years.
Costco had them discounted again last month so they seem to be selling well.

We have this vacuum cleaner. It has a cord. Stores nicely in the front closet. 17lbs. No batteries, no charging needed and does an incredible job and it'll last for 30 years. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hoover-Re...1013/170138249

Ours is about 4 years old now. So far, so good.
