Suggest you put down the corner jacks down before going up.

It stabilizes the TT and doesn't it wobble around near as much.

I just got done re-coating the roof on my 2011 X17C Jayco. I wakeboard so I took two wakeboards up with me (they’re light), and I used them to walk on to spread the weight. It looks like it’s ok to do without but I just feel better about taking an easy precaution to avoid a possible expensive accident.

Just a note on why it is so important to walk your roof and look at every square inch. 2 days ago I started washing my roof when I noticed some darker spots on the edge. As I got closer I discovered 8 HOLES! ! Close inspection showed they were where screws were drive in, possibly through the rubber during construction. I just never saw them before. They are safely buried in Etearnabond now. Be careful up there but it has to be done.

I walk on our 16XRB roof. It creaks and bounces a little, but it's supposed to be able to withstand a lot of weight according to Jayco's self-proclaimed super roof construction. With mine the roof structure is visible by removing the interior housing of the skylight.

Good idea to lower stabilizers before going on the roof. I hadn't thought of that. Of course a stable trailer will make balance easier and make the roof edge less prone to ladder rub. I tape padding on the extension ladder but it's still easy to mar the top edge.
