Water damage

We have had our trailer for not even 2 months, a Jayco 2020 jay bird. We have showered 5 times between my husband and I and every time it has caused water to drip on the floor. This last time water was seeping throUgh the wall in the kitchen and the bathroom was soaked!! We opened the little slit to look under the tub and it was soaked! The floor has water damage all underneath the shower. Really?

Definitely an unfortunate incident to experience on a new TT, and hopefully the only issue you incur.

I'm sure you will be in contact with your RV dealership scheduling a warranty service repair, but take pics of the damaged floor for your records. I would request copies of all your RV dealership's documentation related to the repair for your records.

Also, prior to picking up the TT upon repair completion, advise the dealer that you want the TT connected to a water source so that you can inspect the repaired area under full water pressure.

Bob

Thank you for the info. We have pictures and will be taking trailer to dealer when we get back. It’s the story of our lives really. “Jayco is the best of the best. It’s like the Cadillac version of the campers. They are known for being built and lasting...”.....really.....not in our life time do things work out. It will in the end

That's actually a pretty common problem. Most likely caused by a lack of support under the tub liner around the drain. The bottom of the tub flexes and causes the drain line to become detached or break, allowing the shower water to leak under the tub.

It happened to me once. After I put it back together it never happened again while I owned that unit, but my long-term solution would have been to install a flexible drain fitting.

Most others shore up support under the tub liner (like Jayco should have in the first place).

If this is the only problem you have with your rig, I'd count you lucky. But if you have a decent dealer, they'll get you fixed up.
