water filter cartridge

I have a new 26BH JayFlight. The manual says disconnect the water filter cartridge and connect the clear plastic hose. I found the clear plastic hose under the sink, and winterized according to the manual but never saw a water filter cartridge. I this ok?

My TT came with a water filter, but PO didn't install it.
I haven't installed it either. I always camp where we have city water supply and it's just something else to worry about bacteria or mold to grow in.

Your TT may not have one installed.

JMHO,

Since we camp with hook-ups - I got a 5 micron cartridge type that you can install externally. Then I can choose when and when not to use it......

EDIT: I should clarify that the cartridge hangs on a hook....it's not permanent

Speaking of my YY (had to edit last post).
Typing in low light watching TV is not a good combination

I use both a PurFlow inline filter under the sink, and an external inline filter at the pedestal. When it's time to winterize, the under-sink filter gets discarded and the plastic tube is installed before pumping in the antifreeze. Next spring, a new PurFlow filter replaces the plastic tube. IMHO, the second filter on the kitchen sink line should catch anything the outside filter misses. Never have any signs of mold or bacteria on either filter.
