Water filter placement

Just curios where everybody places their water filter. Before the hose or after the hose (see pic.) and why.
Thanks

p.s. sorry not sure why or how to fix sideways picture.

Never saw a need for one, but, I'd put it near camper.

I'm not sure it makes a huge difference. But I too would pick closer to the camper. Probably because of the hoses I'm using.

I put the filter at the spigot. I figure that if I'm filtering the water to keep stuff out of my TT piping, I want to keep it out of the hose as well. I connect the pressure regulator to the TT city water inlet.

This is the reason I put at camper. Extra port to hand wash, and less likely for it to grow feet and walk away. I also have a sewer solution dump system. Just much more convenient for me. I use a hose rated at about 115 psi from post to tt. I'd rather lose just a hose and not my set up.

It is extremely rare I have a site with water. My thought, filter at the hose bib, and pressure relief afterwards. Then hose to camper

On the TT side. Too many spigots are located low and the end would drag on ground. I use quality quick connections and plumbers tape on each connection. Zero leaks.

Right before my water softener, which is sitting on the ground right below the inlet to the RV.

There isn't a right way. There's a preferred way which, as you can see, depends on who's opinion you want to go with.

I put mine at the trailer. I figure that no matter how well I take care of my hoses something may get into them. By putting it at the TT I assure that anything entering the inlet has been filtered.
