Water heater?

Do you leave the water heater turned on the whole time while camping or only turn it on when needed?

If I have electric hookups, the whole time. If I am running off propane, only when I need it.

When boondocking (no hookups), turned on only when needed using propane.

In a campground having electrical hookup, turned on the whole time using the electric heater element. Propane will heat the water faster than electric heater element.

I understand you can use both electric and propane at the same time to heat the water faster, but I haven't had a reason to try it.

Don't have an electric option on mine, only gas, but I leave it on the whole trip.

If at camp and connected to electric, usually on the entire time. If on propane I'll have it on from breakfast to dinner then off all night.

where the lighted buttons are at, sometimes I turn the electric off at night so I do not see the red light at night when I wake up, and wonder what's on.

I only turn it on as needed.. If I turn it on in the morning for doing dishes etc then it stays warm all day for things like hand washing.. leaving it on all day just wastes power (even if your not paying for it we should all do our part to conserve)
