Water heater

I am new at this so bare with me please. I have a 2021 Jayco Flight travel trailer. It is hooked to electricity and when I changed the gas bottles I stopped hearing the pilot light coming on and off. We do not have hot water and I don’t know how to light the pilot it does not have the knob everyone refers to where you turn to pilot and light. The stove still works just fine but I need help getting the pilot light kit. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If you didn't shut off the water heater while changing the propane it may have entered an error lock down condition due to lack of a flame. Or it may have locked down after trying to relight after the propane change due to air in the line.

You may have to shut down and attempt multiple restarts to get the air out of the line. I am assuming this unit has an electronic ignition rather than a standing pilot light. The give away is that there will be no knob in the back of the unit to turn to a "pilot" position. The water heater would be totally controlled by a switch inside the rig. Try turning off the switch for a few seconds and turn it back on and listen for the auto sparking.

We have tried that several times and nothing has happened. I feel so dumb but like I said we are new to this and you are right we did not shut the water heater off while changing the propane but I have turned the switch off and waited and then back on but nothing has changed.

Depending on the water heater model, there may be a reset button that needs to be pushed. I recommend finding out what model you have and then downloading the owner's manual online. It will have troubleshooting steps and talk about a reset button if there is one.
