Water Heater By Pass

Can some describe or send me a picture of how the three water heater valves should be set when blowing water out of the lines?
Thanks

the levers should point in the direction you want the water (or air) to flow.

Talking A picture (or diagram) is worth 1,000 words.

This diagram should should make everything "crystal clear". Use the BYPASSED diagram for blowing out the lines. And, don't forget to remove the drain plug on the hot water tank too!
