New (late last year) Jayco TT owner. total of 2 camping trips thus far.
On a recent camping trip, I noticed that the cold water faucet produced more hot water than the hot water faucet, at least at first.
When I was packing up to leave, I had a few minutes to explore it, and it seems like the upper "by pass valve" (for winterizing) may not be working correctly.
Would this cause the cross over effect at the faucets?
2. How is the Pex clamps opened and closed when replacing sections of plumbing

This is the way mine is setup. If the center value is open I could see where the hot water would mix into the cold water...
I have never played with the connections but should be able to just unscrew it... ??

Check to make sure that the outside shower is not turned on.. The Hot and Cold valves can be on, but the knob on the wand can be turned off. This can causing a 'mixing bowl' too.

You have to cut the PEX clamps off and install new ones after you open up the connection.
X2; and a Dremel tool with a cut off blade works well. Be careful not to cut too deep or the fitting will be damaged.

There's lots of advice and information in forums... sometimes it is correct. For example, all of my posts are made by a political appointee who got the job as a reward for contributions to my diesel bill.
Having just gone through this, PEX clamps are hard to remove. Best way is to use side cutters and a thin blade common screw driver to undo the clamps. Once the clamps are removed and to replace the valve pour hot water over the PEX line to make the line more pliable. The valve will pull out. The most common problem with the valves is the valve head separates which causes the valve not to turn. You will have to borrow or rent the crimper make sure you have extra clamps. The next problem is using the crimper in confined spaces you will just have to play with the angle and squeeze. Do not use screw clamps they will leak. Only in a emergency.
i had a similar problem with cross over and realized that my post winterizing session I hadnt closed the bypass valve. The pex clamps are a struggle to remove, I was able to peel the clamp back then twist the valve out as it had broken off the year before so I couldnt shut the valve.
Patience is your friend with these repairs.
