Water Heater mystery

I have a 2015 Jayco White Hawk. This is not my first rodeo, the White Hawk is my 4th unit. When I winterized this fall and removed the drain plug from the water heater nothing came out. I have never noticed a leak but I did open the low point drains a few days before I attempted to drain the heater. Is it possible that all the water drained form the low point drain? In 20 years I've never had this happen.

It might have siphoned out the drains, but like you mine has never completely emptied that way. Did you poke a finger inside the drain opening to make sure some hard water deposits did not settle there and block the drain?

Even with the water heater valves closed mine will drain, albeit slowly until I manually open the relief valve. Then it breaks the vacuum and runs right out!

Will drain in a few minutes if I open the pressure relief valve.

I would expect, after a few days of leaving the low point drains open, that the hot water heater would be completely drained.

It could be a bad check valve on the cold water side if it drained out through low point drains.

One low point drain is on the hot water side, and one is on the cold water side.
