water heater on Jayflight 26bh

We have a 2018 26bh. We just emptied the water from the water heater for the first time in the history of ever.

How do we insure that there is water in the water heater when we take our next trip? We've always turned the hot water knob on the tub and let the water run before turning on the water heater, but wanted to double check since we know for sure that it will be empty starting out.

When ya on next up the water, it will fill up. You’ll hear the water going into the heater tank and and then there will be a change of pitch in the sound before it shuts off. Also, if your hot water tank has been emptied, please don’t turn on the heater element.

Like you've done in the past, turn on a hot water tap (any hot tap) when you de-winterize and are filling the system. While the water heater is filling you'll hear air coming out of the tap and then bursts of mixed water and air. When the hot tap is flowing a solid stream of water, you'll know the water heater is filled. THEN you can safely turn on the water heater.

Simple test is to lift up on the pressure relief valve when the tank is pressurized and see if water comes out. That's what I always do. Fill fresh water tank and turn pump on, then open up the pressure relief valve until water comes spewing out. Close valve and turn on heater.
