Water Heater Question
OK - Our trailer was winterized
It is a 2009 32 BHDS
It has 3 valves 2 that are parallel that are the in and out of the tank and a third which is perpendicular that seems to be a combo valve ro the bypass valve
Long story short I opened the parallel valves that were closed and that filled the hot water heater. I fired the heater up using propane and it fired up flawlessly.
However. when I tried to use Electric setting the hot water heater does not seem to be working.
I am studying the manual now and I checked to electrical connections and all seems well.
Any suggestions?

I'm not sure whether the hot water tank is on a fuse or breaker. Did you check those?

However, if it was a fuse I wouldn't hear the click of it trying to turn on., would I?

Try tracing power to the heating element.

Uhhh Matt a question... Are you plugged into shore power? the water heater element operates on 110 volt.. some forget this when they have 12 volt in the RV ...

Is there a chance that the switch on the water heater was on electric before you filled the water heater. The water heating element will burn out in literally seconds if power is applied and it's not submerged in water.

Also, you will not hear any sounds when the water heater is functioning normally on electric only.
I agree with the previous post......could be a burned out element. It can happen easily.

If all three valves are open, you will not get hot water. You will get a quick burst of hot ant then it will be warm. You will need to close the bypass valve and leave the other two open. I don't remember exactly, but on our 27BH the horizontal lines where the water flows in and then out on the other side should be open and the vertical valve should be closed.

Exactly, you need to close the bypass valve so all of the water has to go into the hot water heater.

Bingo. This happened to me last year after I de-winterized. Easiet fix you'll ever have.
