Water heater will not stay on. Any ideas?

We have a new Jayco RKS and are using water fill for the first time. Everything is working, but the water heater. It will fire up, then shut offf. It happens on electric or gas mode. The manual refers to a reset switch, But none of the pictures in the manual look anything like our outside panel. Any ideas?

Of course, we are parked at a music festival in the sun for the next 10 days. We need showers! Help please, the people sitting next to us would appreciate it!

Hmmmmm. Will not work on gas or electric that`s a toughie. How long does it run on gas before shutting off? Is there a fault light on the indicator panel? When on the electric mode you will not hear it running BTW.

Runs about three minutes

The electric mode ran less than five minutes the first time, now it doesn't fire at all. The gas mode runs for about three minutes. The exhaust area is warm, so we know it's trying something. We can hear it fire up in gas mode...can't find any reset button for electric.

OK next- have you checked the fuses and breakers for a tripped breaker or blown fuse?

I know this is a dumb question (only one cup of coffee so far...) but - are you sure the water heater is filled up? The water heater bypass hasn't cut off water to the water heater maybe?

Since this appears to be a NEW camper RVhiker may have hit the problem. It is possible if the electric element was run without water in the tank it could have burned out.

One would think the water heater was full if the dealer walk-thru was done properly.

That was my next thought as well. I know that even with the bypass open mine will not fill up unless I open up a hot water faucet to purge the air from the hot water tank if it is empty.
