Just arrived in Washington State from Nevada and set up our new TT two weeks ago.
It rained quite heavily the last two days and today when it finally stopped went to do my weekly sewage cleaning detail and found standing water and everything that was in cardboard boxes saturated!!
We have the optional "hotel" sized refrigerator in our basement and I thought maybe, perhaps, condensation from the reefer was to blame but there is no indication that there is water coming from it...and there was way too much water.
So, I can only say that it had to be from the rain...but where could it be coming from?.....The hatches have rubber seals in great looking condition, even though there is a gap around the outside of the doors. I also suspected that perhaps it was from the shower or toilet but the walls of the basement are completely dry as is the areas around the bathroom!...This is completely mind boggling.
So my question is, does (has) anyone else have or had this issue?
Even though we are still under our two warranty...When I called of course it is the weekend and no one is available until Monday. And the "Coach-net" assistant said that we would have to bring the TT into a dealer....And that sucks because we just got set up and are full-timers....Plus I work during the day and the dealership is 50 miles away and having to take it all the way there would be such a hassle.
Not real happy about this and am concerned after I dried up all this water and threw out alot of stuff that was soaked, that it is going to be an ongoing problem....that and mold and mildew.
I experienced standing water in the storage area of our 2014 WH 30DSRE after a heavy rain. I moped it up and yup more rain and more water. What I discovered is that water runs off the roof at the leading edge of the awning. Awning was not extended, but water spilled over the gutters at that point and also from the actual gutter spout with significant water coming down on the TT side where the storage area door is located. The storage door will syphon water inside if it is not closed all the way and if the door is in the open position, water will flow directly inside. No we didn't leave the storage open during a heavy rain, but did open it several times to remove items from the "dorm" fridge.
Leave the door closed tightly when its pouring and we have been dry inside ever since.
In most cases the root cause it is the storage door, or they missed putting a bead of caulk along the top edge of the outer door frame. I would also check the marker lights located next to the storage doors.
We had a similar problem. The factory forgot to seal the screws on the bottom inside edge of the framed opening. There needs to be sealer on top of the screws.

If the rain was a wind driven rain, that could be the source, as water can go into the $%^# places under the right conditions. I got water into the awning side rear storage compartment on our Greyhawk 31ss because the door was closed and latched during a heavy rain, but this door was NOT locked, which left a slight gap, and in turn, water got inside. I keep this compartment door lock all the time now and no more water inside. GL.

One correction. the water came from the gutter spout not the edge of the awning. The awning issue was a problem on a previous TT [not Jayco]. I can just about guarantee your problem was the gutter spout if the door was not latched tight. If you opened it at all or left it loose anytime during a good rain, thats where it came from. You might have a problem if the frame wasn't properly caulked when it was installed, my previous TT had no caulk at all on the storage frames. My WH is properly sealed, but the location of the gutter spout is problematic.

Yes, that is what I suspect also...the gutter spout is (ends) directly over the door. But can't see how water would be getting in if the door is locked? The silicone bead around the frame seems okay.....But there is about a 1/8" gap between the hatch door and the frame.....even though there is a rubber gasket somehow the water is seeping in.....My solution is to get some garden hose cut it to length and extend the end spout out and down past the window to have the water drain. gonna do a water test tomorrow to see if that is the root problem....And thank you everyone for your input.....
Also came across another issue in the bedroom window....The new windows on the White Hawks are dark glass "flush" mounded and have these openers that you turn the knob and the window extends out by these two arms that have rollers on a track at the bottom of the window...Well someone didn't attach the rollers correctly at the factor and I can't get the roller/arms back in the track unless you take the whole mechanism out....but they "riveted"....the handle/mechanism into the window frame so, I now have to either take the TT back to a dealership (50 miles) ....OR drill out the rivets....and replace them with small screws/nuts...I think I will do the later....Shouldn't take more than a half hour but, the design kinda sucks and they should have bolted these in.....Anyone else come across this yet?
Haven't had any issues with the windows yet, but did have a similar situation with water in the basement. It only happened once, after a driving wind blown rain, so I can only assume they were related. Though I had the storage doors closed and locked, this happened the day we did our PDI, so my guess is the water got in then and I just didn't notice it - like bassdogs, our gutter extensions are right above the storage doors and I have to be careful getting in there when it's raining.

Can't help on the new window issue, my 2014 still has the old kind. Thinking i will add some kind of gutter spout extension but haven't settled on how. Post pics when you complete yours.
As soon as I get up on the roof and measure the diameter of the gutter spouts and attach a drain hose, I will post some pics to help others.
I figure if I go to Lowe's or Home Depot I can get a section of hose and a couple of hose clamps (the screw type) it might possibly do the trick...On the window...that will be trail and error...first I have to drill out the rivets and find screws/nuts to replace it.
Had water get in our 2014 WhiteHawk 30DSQB back storage compartment and in the outdoor kitchen after rains initially after we bought it in February....I made a very slight adjustment on the latch by bending the metal locking mechanism and also made sure I locked the doors as well, which I had not been doing.....simply made the doors a little snugger when they closed.....haven't had a problem since.
Okay everyone that has responded on the basement leak.
Went to Lowe's today and got a 14' of clear 1-1/2" hose ($22.00!) a couple of 1-3/4" hose clamps....clamped one end to the gutter spout and ran the rest of the length under neath the TT.
I was going to just extent the hose out a few inches to one foot but, I would run into the same problem...water running down directly in front of the basement hatch!.So, whoever had the brains to have the gutter spouts directly over the hatch door needs to go back to engineering school.
Now the fix on the window was to drill out the rivets....replace them with stainless hex bolts, washers and nuts....As I mentioned the ONLY way to get the rollers that are attached to arms, back ON the window track is to completely remove the mechanism completely....which meant removing the rivets.....Another bright idea from Jayco engineers. :-)
I made sure and used hex bolts because you can tighten them down more securely than use phillips/slotted heads.
I have attached pictures of what I accomplished this fine Fall day in the Puget Sound area...hope it gives others an idea what it takes to be a full-timer and scout around having to take your RV all the way to a dealership....which in my case is a long ways away!
