Water leak from Water Pump ShHURflo 2088-403-144

Yesterday I hooked my Jayco Jay Flight 25BHS up to city water and water started leaking from the pump. I am confused because I didn't even turn on the pump. I must be getting back feed somehow? Is there another valve beside the two I see? Any Help would be great. Thanks.

I believe that the pump automaticly acts as a check valve when you are hooked to a city water connection, not allowing water to flow past it and fill the fresh water holding tank. Was the camper winterized with antifreeze, and if not, is the camper in an area where it couldn't freeze in the winter? I suspect maybe it froze and something in the pump froze and cracked, causing it to leak...

The person I bought it from is an Air Force member in Minot, ND. I am from ND as well and yes it was cooooold this winter. Average 5 below most of Jan and Feb. I do not know how well he winterized it. It was outside the whole time. I suspect you are right. I am going to order a new pump then rebuild the old one.

I totally agree with Plowtoy, I think the housing may be cracked.

Whats done is done....might as well pull it apart. It appears to be leaking from the pressure switch (front center)....you can get rebuild kits for some models of pumps / replacement switch kits (which include new gaskets and seals).

But when you pull it apart you should be able to tell if the pump housing is cracked - or if new seals might do the trick.

Let me back-up.....Shurflo has a 2 year warranty and they will honor that down to the purchase receipt date - OR - the mfg date on the pump (if you don't have purchase documentation).

Keep that in mind before you pull it apart
