Water leaking into fresh water tank

When hooked up to city water, there is water siphoning into the fresh water tank.
Is there a back siphon OR a valve issue that would allow water to escape into the fresh water tank?

There is a check valve in your pump that should prevent this from happening. Sometimes they get stuck, sometimes they get a little “sticky” if sitting too long, and sometimes they just get worn out. It can usually be fixed by using water running the pump for a while. Let it get some “exercise” and loosen things up.

I agree! Exercise the pump by pumping some water from the tank and do it occasionally to keep the pump internal parts wet. New pumps are shipped from the factory with water in them to keep them from sticking parts. I just got a new Shurflo recently and it had water in it.

Check and make sure your winterize bypass valve or valves is turned correct. I had the same thing happen a week ago dewinterizing on mine and had one of the valves turned wrong which pressured the lines and was filling the fresh tank at the same time.

I had the same issue, it was the check valve or rubber part in the water pump (not sure what it was called) I got it for $10, installed it in 6 mins, fixed the problem!!
