water outside shower area

Have a jay flight g2 27bh. Not happy with the design of shower because water seems to get all over walls and floor outside shower area. The shower interior seems to be stuck on by 2 sided tape as i can continually push on the walls and it will grab for a little while then eventually pull away. Does anyone recommend a shower door or anything else that will prevent the water from leaving basin area. I am worried that the water that gets on floor and under walls (there not caulked either) will cause water damage.

I had the same problem with my shower walls coming loose. I installed some plastic drive rivets, problem solved.

I agree I have the same problem, water seems to run down the top of tub and roll off onto the floor. I found this but have not tried it yet. Looks like it might work.

That is how mine was attached form the factory to the walls. So far Jayco has replaced all the rivets at least once under warranty.

Hi,

Can one of you post pictures of this rivet application? Did it solve the problem of water on the floor outside the tub/shower?

Thanks,

Mike

On my 32BHDS the tub walls can be pressed in, but this is by design. The tub has a top lip that extends up behind the shower walls several inches. The reason there is some space between the shower walls and the camper walls behind the shower walls is to help dry any humidity/water that gets trapper there.
I have been looking for some triangle shaped pieces, that I can't remember where I saw them on someone elses tub. They attach in the corners of the tub and redirect the water run off back into the tub.

Our trailer is new & we haven't used the shower yet. My wife did try a tub bath. She is small, so she could fit. Think I will stay with showers.

I was told by a friend there is a problem like you're talking about (water running off tub to floor.) One solution is a corner web type plastic piece that fits in the outer corners. I bought a set but decided against using it because I was afraid of kicking it when getting in & out of the tub. I took my friends advise and used a flat plastic molding strip bought at Lowes. It runs the full length on top of the tub rail. It measures about 3/4" wide & only about 1/4" thick. I fastened it with silicone adhesive. Hope it works & think it will.

I'm not very experienced a posting pictures. I got the trailer back from the dealer & am satisfied with the repairs. Jayco isn't so bad after all. I'm about to try sending the picture & message.

Any idea of where they got that strip? I want to do the same thing on ours and couldn't find anything close at Lowe's or Home Depot. Even went to a craft store.

Thanks,

Mike

I just made the same modification to my 32bhds. I went to Lowes and in the section where they have the paneling I found a vinly strip. I used a waterproof adhesive to secure it to the tub. It fit in the space between the shower wall and the tub. So far after 10 showers the water getting on the floor problem has been rectified.

Went back to Lowe's and couldn't find anything like that. We have a Floor and Decore store here so I will try that next. Sheesh, you who would have thought a plastic or vinyl strip would be such a big deal to find ;*)

I believe I also saw the same strip in Home Depot by the plastic lattice. Maybe in your Lowes they may have it there.

PVC quarter round will work well and it's a little decorative. It can be found with the molding at Lowes.

I hate to be happy about others having problems, but I'm glad I'm not the only one.
