Water pump question on 2014 Whitehawk 30DSQB

We've been out in our new 2014 WhiteHawk 30DSQB on 2 occasions but had not used the fresh water tank so therefore we had never filled it...today I filled it just to see if everything would work if and when we need it...mainly the water pump.....after filling I turned on the water pump, opened the faucets and water came out....seemed like everything was okay....however I started looking at the pump and here's my question......in my picture you will see 2 valves...one that is in the line from the fresh water tank...it's open....however the other valve that tees off at the top??..from it is a 18-20 inch clear hose not attached to anything...that valve was also open but the hose had a bad kink in it...when I straightened it out I lost my water flow(pressure).....should this valve be closed.....ideas and help would be appreciated.

Close it.

Its the winterizer hose to pump antifreeze into the system

In the fall, you close the line to the tank, open that valve and stick the hose end into a gallon of antifreeze and suck it into your pipes.

It should have been closed after that service.

Close the valve on the short tube. It is for winterizing only. You stick it in a gallon of pink stuff, close the valve to the water tank and open the short tube and turn on the pump. Otherwise keep it closed.

the clear hose looks like a siphon hose to use rv antifreeze to winterize your plumbing system. The valve stays closed during normal operation. When winterizing the unit, close the valve to the fresh tank, and lower clear tube into a jug of antifreeze. You then open the valve on the clear tube and turn on your pump to flush rv antifreeze through your water lines. This will keep your water lines from freezing, but do not forget to winterize the drain lines and tanks as well.

Thanks to all for your responses.... We bought TT Feb 17....unit had been winterized by the dealership so I did not take part in that procedure.......It's all very clear now...felt like it needed to be closed the way the pump was acting......another quick question on the fresh water tank....I noticed a hose coming back up out of the tank, going back thru the floor, and simply hangs under the trailer...is this simply an overflow hose in case one overfills the fresh water tank??? ....Bare with me...I'm the new guy who's learning.

That's what it sounds like to me.

As mentioned, there will also be a low point drain for the fresh water tank but it will have a valve on it.

Yeah...I have found the low point drain/valve for the fresh water tank....I'm sure this other hose I mentioned is an overflow hose....still a little anxious when I'm dealing with water on this new TT.....just want to be sure I know where it's all going....don't need any surprises.
