Water purification system
I’ve been reading up on water purification systems for our TT. I found this one I really like its called Acuva water Purification acuvatech.com
I was just wondering if anyone has this installed in there RV. I want good tasting water and want to get away from buying bottled water for drinking.

I have not heard of anyone using it. The big downfall I see is you must have power for the UV portion to work.
I know a lot of backpackers that carry a small UV filter to render their drinking water safe. When backpacking I use a good mechanical filter, and not worry about electric. I am still standing after 30 years of backpacking.
In theory it will work great as long as you have power.

Look into filtering your water through carbon media. 1 micron or less removes small particulates in water, and can remove chlorine, organic compounds, giardia, cryptosporidium, and other contaminants. It also improves the taste.
It has worked for us. It might work for you, too.

UV filtering is not worth the $$$'s IMO.. unless you plan on pumping the water out from the lake?
looks like a nice unit... just seems pretty expensive... considering if you hook up to regular hook ups the carbon filter will remove the taste...and you can get those for cheap.. a 2 stage filter... runs what $50 bucks...
they used to use UV in hot tubs for this but IIRC they stopped using them...I think because the water couldn't stay in the UV long enough to be useful.
it comes in 12v so you can even use it boondocking.. let us know if you go with it... it has a 30 day money back guarantee... make sure you look the company up and see what their reviews are...

These systems work very well as long as you don’t go past the design flow limits. I have tested water after using a uv and it is extremely clean of micro but does nothing for chemicals, lead and other solids. Usually micro is not the problem, it is solids and chemicals

I'm not familiar with this one. I know several who have on-board water softeners and filters. My only opinion is they waste a lot of water to purify the end product.

I have a few friends who use a reverse osmosis system.

IMO it is also overkill unless your stuck in a place with super hard water. and a sewer connection. A two stage filter is more than adequate in most applications.

Why do you want to throw away your money? Do you drink a lot of bad water? Water for public consumption goes through numerous tests on a continuous basis, save your money..
