I went outside and water was shooting out from my city water connection. All I can think of was that I was flooding my camper. Panic set in!!!! The only thing I didn't do was open the valve to the water heater. So I tried it. Same thing. Panic!!!! So I just shut off the pump and went through the whole routine for winterizing. And then I remembered!!!!! The simplest thing. After I blew out all the lines, I pushed that little check valve where the city water connection is to release whatever water pressure may be left. I then put in the cone shaped screen, BACKWARDS!!!! This was keeping the city water open and allowing water to pump out!!! WHEW!!!!!
I remember reading another thread like this. Hopefully this will help someone and avoid the panic I had today.

Careful there - I did that exactly once and the check valve broke and required replacement. I don't manually push the check valve any more....
