Thank you. My new Hummingbird should be here next week and I will be installing my Andersen at the lot.

I loosened the bolts and made them upright again then re-tightened them with an 18 inch bar I bought from Harbor Freight .
His next suggestion was to have them tack welded to prevent further slippage but am putting that off till spring.
I guess the dealership did not have enough muscle to tighten them properly.
My experience is that the set screw is not really effective due to it's placement near the top of the bracket instead of the bottom where the bracket is pulled forward when the chains are tightened. I believe the Andersen manual called out about 90 ft-lbs torque when tightening the brackets but I still saw some slippage after applying 110 ft-lb. My neighbor at the time happened to have a welding unit at home so I had him tack weld it for me for a 6-pack (provided AFTER the welding was done... ). I've got 10K miles on it now and it's performed very well.

What if once you get it where you want it set the top grub screw then drill a hole in the bracket and tap it for an additional grub screw

WDH Gurus Weigh In Please

After reviewing all of the options, I went with the Blue Ox. It was a hard decision, there were several excellent choices available and I appreciate everyone's input.

Looks like it'll do the job well.

my first trailer only weighed 5000 pounds and it towed much better on Interstates with weight distribution than without, and that was behind my 1 ton dually.
