Week three of our new Jayco Eagle 256 RKS

Picked up our trailer at the Sicard Dealership after getting a great introduction/walkaround/tell all about it. They set up our truck with the trailer break controller and an equalizer tow hitch.

The technician demonstrated how to hook up and then took us for an instructional test drive - we needed that so badly!

The drive from Hamilton to Prescott, Ontario, was uneventual until we needed gas! Always plan an exit strategy when pulling into a gas station was a big lesson we learned! The TV towed the trailer so well I forgot I had it on the back of the truck! After backing up, a fellow trucker saw a look of dismay on my face, and cleared the road to let me across three lanes of traffic! But we made it to our trailer park and we have been enjoying it ever since.

I had only one hiccup with the trailer and that was because I did not turn off the bypass for the hot water tank so we had the common problem it seems - turn on the water, get a spurt of hot and then back to luke warm.

I have to say, this forum has been a great help as it provides good information, links, problem solving and just general no-nonsense tips.

We hope to plan some trips to New York and Virginia States from our seasonal park which is on the St. Lawrence near the bridge to Ogdensburg, NY.

Thanks - it's a great forum!

Congrats on your new trailer we have the G2 25RKS and love it. and yes it takes a time to get use to pulling and setting up and all of the little things in between. This is our 5th trailer and still dont know it all and probably never will but we have fun and that is what camping is about
