Amen.

Harbor Freight also has some power tools that look like DeWalt's . . . but they're not.

JP Beck -

It is a lesson that many of us have learned the hard way. These guys do a great job of displaying and pricing their goods. In our market, they are a popular choice for buying those tools that have a habit of "walking off the job site". For the rest of us who plan on using something more than once, it is just not a good option.

That said, HF is a great choice when buying tools for kids or those who need a trial outing.

BTW, you are just a few miles away from us. We should share info on area RV sites.

New Equalizer have only towed with it once. From what I have seen thus far wish I would have stayed with the Reese Dual Cam. Don't even get me started on Harbor Freight.

There's no way in the world I'd trust a Harbor Freight hitch to tow my trailer.

EAZ- Lift with 1000# bars. I had to replace the chains with longer ones.

EAZ Lift, 1000# bars, been using this setup since March 2005 - does the job, no complaints.

We put a Reese dual cam on out old hybrid and loved it for the last 10 years. It got sold wit the trailer last week. The new Octane came with a Husky set up and friction sway from the PO and I couldn't get the hitch head to the right height on my truck so I was looking for a different shank when I came across a lightly used dual cam set up with the right drawbar and bars for the new trailer so now it's switch over time. I'm very happy with how the dual cam works and tows, it seems much quieter than my brother in laws equalizer as well..

I remember reading a procedure for weighing a TV & TT on a CAT scale on this forum but now I can't find it. Does anyone know where that is?

We have an Equalizer. We bought it because that is what the RV dealer had available to sell us. I have never done any research on these hitches, so I have no idea what is out there. Seems to work fine for us.

My only complaint is the creaking and popping noises while turning.

Edit: These are both "stickys" in the "Towing, Hitching and Tow Vehicles" section.

Who-knows-what brand hitch with a couple of Reese spring bars. Bought at auction on an opening bid ($5.00) because I thought I knew what it was....

Turned out it was parts from 2 different hitches and needed $125 in chains and clamps.

Works great!

I went with the Equalizer 4 point with sway control. Have had no issues at all with this and when the big trucks go by there's no suction action. Having them come head on no sway at all but I do have mine set to within 200lbs difference for front and back weights. Set up is everything on an sway bar config.

I have an EAZ-LIFT 1000# bars did not see that on the poll.

I have used it with two small trailers less then 6000# with no problems.
