I have both an old fashioned reese and an old fashion husky wd hitches to choose from, one i had with the old TT, one came with the new TT. I towed with both and never had any sway...Dealer is telling me I should sell both used and buy an equalizer, but that seems like a lot of money considering I never had swaying...WHAT WOULD YOU DO? Buying it would mean less site fees and less fuel to go camping...

I suppose it depends. If the old systems have the proper sized spring bars and tow ratings for the new trailer and have sway control I see no need to buy the Equalizer.

Looks like Reese and Equalizer products are dominating the voting with 50 votes each.

I am using the same Reese pro system my dad bought 35 years ago V-5 trunions with an Eaz-lift sway. It has to have well over 75,000 miles on it.
I have a new adjustable head shank for it.

Just bought a Reese SC 1500lbs Trunnion w/ Sway Control for my 32BHDS. Just have to wait for my TT to be built now.

Went with Robin it is a bit oversized but was a great deal and seems to work very well.

EAZ-Lift

Dealer threw it in when we bought the trailer. Very user fiendly and seems to work well. So far I haven't seen a need for the friction sway bar on it though.

What is it that so many folks like the Equal-i-zer hitch over the other brands?

I believe it is because they integrate sway control into the system and are also widely available at many RV dealers and RV accessory suppliers.

That is why I got one. It is a proven design. It anti sway and weight distribution all in one.

I picked up the Haul Master WDH also (had a 40% off coupon) so I can complain at just over $100 out the door. Might be a bit overkill for my 165 but will have it for out next (larger) TT whenever we upgrade down the line if I decide not to use it now. Quality seems pretty decent and comparable to others on the market.

1400# Equalizer for our 2007 Model Eagle 322FKS. Have had it for 6 years and it totally works great. So easy to use. And with an electric hitch jack there's "no sweat"..
