Atlee...it sounds like you may have the same problem with Sway Pro that took me almost a year to resolve. I was sold a “standard” hitch when I really needed an “underslung” hitch. Sway Pro finally sent a rep to diagnose the problem. Now I am very happy with the Sway Pro!

I bought my trailer used and they included the Husky 1200 pound weight distribution hitch. I added two sway bars for about $60 each.

The first time out I had some noise turning and a hard time releasing the trailer from the ball. I had to add lithium grease to all of the balls for noise and adjusted the bolt for the ball angle so the ball would release properly.

The 6 more trips I made (ranging from 200 to 1600 miles) I had no issues. I had no sway or porposing issues.

I have a hard time paying more for a better hitch when the cheaper one that came with it works fine.

I'm with you. I have whatever cheap unit the dealer put on and pulling almost 10K have no issue with sway

I got the Fastway e2 with the same bars when I picked up our TT in January, due to weather I haven't had a chance to try it out much. Looks like they are both made by the same company.

JARanch, did you upgrade hitches? We went camping this weekend in Joplin, MO, about 2 hours south of Kansas City and the winds really pushed our 28BHBE around. We packed light so I don't know if the lack of tongue weight hurt or if my E2 just wasn't adequate for the 30-35 mph winds we encountered. I'm seriously considering the Equalizer now. Spending half my drive white knuckling wasn't fun, it was exhausting. The E2 was a great hitch pulling our old 26BH but it isn't up to the task with the 28BHBE.

I had an Equalizer recommended by my brother that loves his.
So I bought one for our 27 JayFlight behind a 2012 short Tahoe.
It did ok but it still pushed the Tahoe around a little.
Then I did some research and found the Hensley hitch.
I discovered that there are only three hitches that totally eliminate sway.
The Pullrite, Hensley and ProPride. The Pullrite is permanently mounted on the tow vehicle and very expensive.
The Hensley and ProPride are much more reasonable in cost and will move from trailer to trailer and tow vehicle to tow vehicle.
Both work to eliminate sway with physics and geometry without friction.
It puts the fun back into towing with no more white knuckles and 25-30 mph wind has little effect.
Check them out, read the reports. I have and use the Hensley because I liked it better.
There is a learning curve in hooking up and unhooking not hard to master.

I have been using a Hensley for about 20 years and have moved it to three different trailers. When you change to a different towing vehicle, sometimes you have to change out the connecting bar because of different heights of a 3/4 and 1/2 ton towing vehicle.
