Weight distribution hitch ?

Hello to everyone,
I'm a newbie to the travel trailer world.. I just bought my first travel trailer it's a 2017 Jaco Jay Flight 24RBS. I was wondering what weight distribution hitch would be a good match? I have a 2013 Ford F-150 kingranch 4wd with the 3.5 ecoboost..

Look at my signature below and you'll see which WDH I use on our rig. It works well with our travel trailer; no complaints. However, there are many hitches out there to use. Do your research and read their reviews along with the replies you get here on the Jayco Forum. Then all you'll have to do is choose the one you like. Good Luck.

We never had sway or a problem from our Equalizer 4 pt hitch. I used it with our 2011 F150 with Ecoboost, 6.5' bed, 4x4, Lariat. Don't remember if it had 3.55 or 3.73 gearing.

Welcome to the forum from Western NY! Congratulations on the 24RBS. You'll have a lot of fun camping.

We also have been using an Equalizer brand with the last two trucks, and trailers. Easy to hook up, and you don't have to disengage the bars to back up. Just our opinion. There's a lot of other good ones.

Equalizer 4 point with our 24RBS. This has been a good choice for us for the reasons stated above and is also very quiet when using the optional pads in the 'L' brackets.

I have a Husky Center Line TS hitch, which is quite similar to the Equalizer. I've had two successful towing seasons with it, no sway or any problems in heavy winds or rain.

My new trailer has a setup where the weight distribution bars and sway control are combined. There’s no chains to deal with like on the older style systems making them easier to hook up and take off. I’ve only towed with this system once, but I like it more then the old style.

The Reese Strait Line WDH and the Equal-i-zer WDH both have integrated sway control, both are great WDH's. A WDH rated at 1,200lbs would be a ideal match for the 24RBS (7,500lb GVWR).

I use the Reese Strait Line WDH with my 24RBS.

Once you have decided on a WDH, a trip to the CAT scale under "loaded" TV/TT conditions will provide you with important weight data and allow you to dial-in your WDH adjustment. This one-time visit to the CAT scale will pay dividends.

Equalizer 4 pt hitch, YES on the optional pads AND ALSO, put some grease on the hitch head where the spring bars pivot.

We've taken several trips with our 212QB pulled by a V6 Durango using a Husky Centerline TS. I can"t speak about other hitches, but I'm happy with the Husky. We typically travel at 60-65 MPH on the e-way without any noticable sway. I don't disconnect the spring bars when backing.



I think any the brand name hitch will work properly when installed correctly. I bought the Husky because of the price and convenience of the dealer.



As others have said, getting your TV/TT weighed is also a good idea.

My old hitch used chains, my new e2 hitch uses the bars. I would never go back to using chains for a WD hitch. One reason is that chains offer no sway control. Second reason is that the bars are so much simpler to hook up.

I use this brand as well and am very happy with it.
Mine is the 8k rating as that's the total weight (with cargo) of my trailer.
This is what my dealer suggested and installed when I bought my new 2016 Jayflight.

I can't seem to find one with a 2" ball.. My TT was just delivered yesterday and was told it was a 2" ball. It does not say anywhere on the tounge of the trailer what size it is. Will see this afternoon if a 2 5/16 will fit or notm
