Westlake tires

Well it finally happened. We had three out of four tires loose the tread on one trip within 200 miles of on another. I’ve been reading for a long time about these tires I have 260 toy hauler gross out at 8500 lbs. if anybody is running these tires get rid of them. My rig is 2 years old but bought new and only had 600 miles on the tires pressure always checked and the tires looked great no wear until they failed. Click image for larger version

Over many decades we have had many high-end automobiles and trucks. I have always bought the best tires I could. However, in our dotage I find my wife drives her expedition a grand total of 6 1/2 miles a week, that is the round-trip to the hairdresser. I do take it on a hundred mile round trip into town maybe on a monthly basis just to keep it loosened up. Well, after nearly seven years we finally got 50,000 miles on the car. Parenthetically, the first few years she drove it about the same number of times per week, that being one, but the round trip to the hairdresser in those days was closer to 50 miles. So was 50,000 miles I decided to buy another set of tires. And for the first time since I was a teenager I purchased cheap tires, westlakes. I have driven that car probably 5 round trips into Vegas in the last year and I must say they are noisy, rough riding and seem to have quite a bit of rolling resistance.

30 years ago I bought a new set of Toyo tires for a Ford van I had.
Went on a trip down south to LA.
During that trip 2 of the low mileage Toyo's blew out!

I recently bought some new Pathfinders (Korean) from America's tire for my truck.Three towing trips so far.
