WH anode rod
Where is the anode rod in my WH? Have a 2014 24FBS and I took out the nylon WH drain plug to install a drain line and faucet. I expected to see an anode rod in that drain to replace as its corodes, but it's not there. Do all WHs have an anode rod?

On your water heater you don't need an anode rod. Just keep your nylon plug.

I don't think all RV WH's have an anode rod. I have heard that some may.

X2 It depends on the type of tank, aluminum vs steel.

You have the better more expensive water heater that does not require an anode. Smile relax be happy..

Atwood does not have or need one. Norcold must have one.

WH anode
Hey, that's great that I don't need one. It is an Atwood so I guess I got a good one without even asking. That's unusual for me as it is usually the opposite of that. Thanks for the quick replies. Time to move on to the next project by installing the Coleman digital thermostat. Then next Thursday we are on to Fools Hollow Lake CG in AZ for the 3rd time out this season. Can't wait.

There is nothing wrong with a Norcold. Just another technology to do the same thing.
