What can I try ? Water pump isn't working

First time out this season, the 28BHS (3yo) decides that the water pump doesn't want to pump water. I can HEAR it on, when switched ON, and I don't even have a faucet open. I open a faucet, and I get nothing.

My fresh water tanks are full. Using plumbing with city water is working fine.

If the pump was used to pump antifreeze through the system you need to switch it at the valve

I am assuming you have water in the fresh water tank. Have you checked to ensure the valve used to winterize the water system is closed? This would be the valve/hose used to suck anti freeze into the water system.

I use air pressure to blow out my lines. I've not used that valve, it's a pain in the a$$ to get to anyway. However, the RV was in the shop at the end of last year for some work. Maybe they screwed with it ? the lines didn't have antifreeze in them....

If your in Livonia MI you may have a cracked pump if you never used antifreeze. Using air doesn't blow out the pump.. Just saying.

it does if you run the water pump during the air-pressure blow-out session, for 5-7 seconds or so.. I can hear the pump running, it's just not doing anything

Pump filter screen

Have you checked the water filter screen at the pump? Mine was nearly clogged with debri from the tank after 3 uses. I assume you have opened the faucet to let air bleed out while running pump.

just saw a video on water pump issues after a blowout - will try what he said, prime the pump at the spot where there's a little cup ?

I'll open it up tomorrow and see what kind of damage I can do !

Water pump prime

Ok, I’m a newbie, and I have struggled w/ my pump losing prime when connected to city water or when the tank runs dry. The pump naturally drains and bubbles form in the lines—for some reason the pumps don’t self-prime well. I think it helps to keep the water tank full, but I recently found another fix.

On my wet control panel, I have a “winterize/sanitize” fresh water input—I hooked the fresh water to this port and tried different valve positions to water in and thereby push air out of the system.

After a minute, I put it back on “dry camp” and turned on the pump. Voila!! Aqua.

Cheers and Good luck!
