what didn’t you get that you wish you had?

So, when you were shopping for your RV, are there any features you wish you’d gotten at the time that you didn’t? Particularly things that you can’t really add later?

My trailer has more features then I was looking for, but it was at a really good price. So I ended up with more then I was looking for.

One big storage bin, to put things like fishing poles, grill, outdoor rug, folding table, camp chairs, firewood, etc.. My rig has only one medium sized bin, and all the rest are smaller and not that functional.

No.

We planned our purchase very carefully, and we're happy with our 26BH.

We've made modifications to it, including a substantial redesign of the interior. But all were part of the original plan.

Generally we got what we wanted. Would love to have a chauffeur, but that just was not in the cards.

I added a few additional features ourselves, such as additional a bunch of 12 volt power points and made the two front cargo holds into a full pass through.

On the travel trailer, we should have gotten the 2nd AC unit. We got it with "2nd AC prep", so if we had kept it, installing the second unit was a top priority. I regretted that pretty early on, but we were able to make due for the time we owned it.

That's about it.

On the motorhome, we had already learned from the trailer what we could and could not live without and where we were willing to compromise. So we didn't compromise much and got what we wanted. The only thing I kind of wish for in the MH is recliners in the living room. But I'll eventually install my own, and they'll likely be higher quality than what Jayco puts in for their "theater seating" option.

Every now and again, I have a twinge of regret that we didn't go with a diesel Super C, but no way that would have fit in the budget. And you gotta have goals right?

Dual pane windows and hydraulic leveling.

Windows - Wasn't really aware of them at the time we purchased, never thought to research windows. That said, reviews on them seem to be mixed, so going to install some heat reflecting film and consider it done.

Leveling - Seismic at the time only came with the electric stuff.

Congrats! We purchased a 4113. It seems your unit has been a bit more reliable than ours. Hope it keeps going strong for you.

I didn't think that the glass panels were an option until 19 model year? Maybe they can be added to yours? Here is a link to the parts list - https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws...CD-0002652.pdf

Oh... now you want to touch on all the fun stuff and upgrades AFTER the sale....

I don't even want to total up what that list cost me so far....

We almost went with the Rocky Mountain edition but elected to stick with the standard version and save a couple grand. Higher clearance, bottom insulation, TV, bigger tanks and a ladder probably would have been worth that. The only thing I really wish we had is the ladder for getting up on the roof easier.

A new tow vehicle. Oh wait, that doesn't come with the trailer...

Seriously, not much really. Oddly enough our trailer has no drawers for utensils. So made some using a section of the pantry.

https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...ect-21938.html

Otherwise the few times we've bought a trailer we knew what we wanted and aren't people who have a need to buy something else a few years later. We've been very happy with our X20E. First week of Sept we were on a week long trip and watching a movie one evening and talking about how comfortable the trailer is.

My answer may be a little complicated.

First and foremost, I wish I had gotten auto-leveling or at least electric jacks.

However, doing it over again, I would have not gotten a travel trailer and instead got a Eagle 325BHQS fifth wheel.

I find myself more than a little frustrated with the lack of storage on the travel trailers and I wish I had a place for a generator and extra batteries.

Dual or triple pane windows for sure. We have the electric auto level rams. Don't think I would have wanted the hydraulic. We camp all year round and sometimes in freezing weather. My understanding hydraulic systems are twitchy in very cold weather.

I told the wife we would never fill all these cabinets an storage in the 287Bhsw when we looked at it. Ya that didn't last long. I get tired of diggin thru things in pantry to find somethin but other than that all is perfect.

I’d love to have dual pane windows. Not sure if that was even an option on a 23RB but they’d be great. Aside from that we couldn’t have picked a better TT for our style of adventure. Everything else we added wasn’t available or I wouldn’t have trusted factory techs doing it.
