What Do You Think-Whitehawk 27 DSRL

Now pulling 27' Flagstaff weighing about 5600# loaded. How much more would I notice a Whitehawk 27DSRL with the extra 1000# and 4' in length?
Pulling with 14 Ford F150 Supercrew 4x4 shortbed FX4 3.55. Will truck pull without wearing me out on long trips? Use Hensley hitch.

I have a 27DSRL and tow it with a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 5.3 liter engine, auto trans and 3.42 gears. It struggles some on steeper hills but the altitude where we have towed so far doesn't help either, between 3K and 4.5K feet elevation. With the turbos and lower gear the Ford has I think you'll be OK but you will definitely know it is back there.

I was pulling my 27DSRL with a 2012 Silverado same as Russ661. Pulling the TT, the TV handled fine, and no overheating of engine or transmission. 2-3-or 4 hr trips I would be good but for me the 5.3 was a little weak. I didn't like the transmission hunting on even the slightest of hills. Keeping in mind our plans to upgrade to a larger 5th wheel in the future I upgraded to a 1 ton diesel and it made a world of difference.
The 2012 5.3 is 315 hp. The Ford turbo may have more hp & torque. IMHO think with the 27DSRL and 1/2 ton combination it is a matter personal preference, not capability.

I think it's a matter of preference and budget. We pull our 2015 DSRL with a 1500 Silverado 5.3. Excellent mileage (9.5 - 10 avg so far). But you'll know the engine is working. I'd love to get a 3/4 ton, but budget constraints force us to wait 2 - 3 years before we can trade trucks. Still, I'm happy with the truck and very happy with the trailer. Would do this all over again in an eyeblink!
Best wishes.

Our 27DSRL weights about #6800 fully loaded with about #900 on the tongue.
Pulls fine with our tuck. Your truck should be fine as long as you are within your payload limits.

I just traded our 27DSRL and 2011 Ford SB Ecoboost with 3.73 RA. I loved that combination and took it out west to Yellowstone and Montana on two trips. Check the towing specs on your truck.

Appreciate all help everyone offers. Thought this would be an easy deal but hasn't proved so yet. Ford dealer tells us our truck will pull 7300# trailer with ease and within specs but it doesn't the way I read things.
It has 1050#max tongue wt.
9600# max trailer
1520# max pay load
15500# combined tv/trailer
7200# GVWR which is kicker

Weighed truck with myself and wife and hard topper over bed 6280#
Ford rep (not our sales rep) said not to worry about being over 7200 since wt distribution hitch would take care of wt off truck. Pay load and tongue wt are cumulative and not one total. He said we were good entire way.

The way I understand, we have 920# for passenger, cargo in trk bed, and tongue wt., which puts a big crimp in 27DSRL.
