What is the better deal??

If you were looking at a 2007 JayFlight 29BHS for 13K and a 2008 G2 26BHS for 11K, which would be the better deal?

We like the "L" shaped kitchen of the 29 and the option of a changing room in the rear with the sink. However you have less center space. Where the 26 has tons of center space and almost no counter space and not much room to change.

Thoughts?

My personal opinion is the 2008 G2 is a better value, but both are good units.

Take your family to the unit and sit in there for an hour around the table, on the sofa, etc and just hang out. My wife and I sat in ours for almost 2 hours and just talked to see how we liked it and how it would fit for our family. Dealer was just fine with it and left us alone.

That is what is most important. If YOU like it, then you made the right choice.

It always helps to check the NADA price...

We have the G2 version of the 29'. We love it. Over two years old now

Yes get what you want, but since you are asking, strictly from a dollars and cents point of view, the 26 BHS is a more expensive unit to begin with then the 29 BHS, I looked at them when I was shopping around. It has a larger slide, that`s the only reason why I can see it being a couple grand more in initial MSRP then the 29BHS is. But we also went with the 28 BHS, which is dimensionally identical to the 29BHS for the L shaped kitchen, less weight, more bunk room and more private front bedroom.

For the folks with the 29 layout, how do like the tv viewing angle?

The only thing we didn't like with the 26 was the lack of counter space.

I have not figured out anywhere to mount the TV that would be user friendly or easy on the eyes and neck. The 29 has it on the wall on top of the back seat of the dinette, the 28 has a cabinet directly above the dinette. None of these options are desirable to me. So I take the TV down out of the cabinet and set it on the dinette for viewing. The height and angle is perfect from the couch for viewing. A bit Inconvenient but its the only thing that works for us.

We chose the 29 because it had more counter space (we use it for extended periods when we camp and want the extra space).

The tv... with the G2, the tv came standard and mounted on the wall above the dinette seat backed up to the bunk wall. If (we) could change the location, it would be to lower it a bit. Granted, the person in the dinette seat could bump their head on it, but for our needs, we don't often have someone sitting there and would like to watch tv without having to crank our necks up. For as often as I watch it, I don't miind though
