What is this hole on my roof?

Bought a new Jayco 22BHM in February and the weather is finally nice enough to take it out for its maiden voyage and I decided check my roof and found this hole with a coax cable in it and nothing to keep the weather out. I haven't noticed any leaks but will look closer tomorrow after work. Does anyone know what would have been in this spot? I am not very happy to have found this on my brand new TT but it looks to not be a major issue yet. The wood around the hole doesn't feel or look rotten so fingers crossed it didn't get too much moisture in. Will be contacting the dealer to have them fix it.

Is your trailer “solar ready”? I think it might be the solar hookup on the roof some trailers have but thought there were two wires

Yeah it is Solar ready but the connection point is on the tongue of the trailer. They didn't say anything about one being on the roof. =

Wow..I'm more amazed that it has been exposed to the elements since February without any damage. I would first place a call into Jayco then ship out the pics to them. How about your radio antenna. Mine is located exactly in that area with the same amount of self leveling sealant. Just a thought. Please keep us all posted on this one. I'm curious as to how Jayco will handle this.

I am sorry you have this on your new trailer; it is an inexcusable dereliction on on either Jayco's or the dealer's part. Who knows? It could have been the factory, or it could have been a dealer repair order that the dealer screwed up.

That is messed up. I am surprised you did not catch it in the PDI. That is where the radio antenna is on our 2016 Jay Feather. I would not let a dealer have a free run to their do monkey work on it. I would deal with Jayco directly and make sure that they are the ones engaging the dealer from the onset. If they still do a cruddy job, which is entirely possible, I would repair it myself with an Eternabond repair kit.

It does look like a cable for the radio antenna it was probably stolen and if it was done recently that’s why there’s no damage done to the roof

I think that may have been your antenna mount, that got caught on something and was ripped out. If your missing an antenna on the roof, this would be it.

I hope you didn't cut the roof membrane in that last pic. If you did, you may be/are probably on your own.....

That duct tape may make the repair a little larger. Got to be some type antenna missing.

BTW: Another reason to go on the roof before purchase.

Do you have an tv or radio antenna missing? If so, find out how and when.

Are u missing ur tv antenna? If so bet it was left up and removed by a tree on your way home. Does anything else on roof show and tree or wire damage like ac shroud or vent covers?

I was looking closely at that hole to see if there were any screw holes. I can't tell from the picture but the caulk looks like it was ripped off. I have hit branches with mine that broke the antenna but did not damage the mount.

If something had been ripped off, the lug/wiring would be damaged. There appears to be no damage to the wiring. I'm liking the idea that somebody stole the radio antenna.

X2 and you only need a 6' ladder to get at it. When I raise and lower my mast I use my 6'.

I hope it works out for the OP, but the delearship will probably challenge ownership of the damage. No kidding about adding the roof to the PDI. It sure as heck escaped me as well during my last inspection.
