What is your longest trip?

Just wondering how far some of you pull your trailers? Any cross country trips? Also how long are some of you gone? Not interested in full timer info.

Longest trip in our HTT is 21 days. From Minnesota to Badlands NP, Custer SP, YellowStone, Glacier. Fabulous trip! There was a few long days of driving.

Most long trips range in the 10 -14 days.

No cross country trips for us yet because of kids and holiday limitations. Less miles now that we live on Vancouver Island but we did a loop on the Oregon Coast from the northern interior of BC 6 out of 8 summers we lived there. Longest trip was just over 4,000KM (2,500mi) when we dipped into California to visit the redwoods but most were just over 3,000KM (1,900mi) towing.


edit: We do a longer camping trip every year that average about 16 nights.

Longest distance, so far, is a little over 2600 miles round trip. Longest duration, so far, is 13 days.

Just this last summer we did approx. 4K miles in about 18 days. San Antonio out to Anaheim, up to Sequoia National Forest (avoided I-5 and took the long way), then over to the Grand Canyon, down to Saguaro National Park, then back to San Antonio. There were a few days which were a long distance, but we took many stops to stretch and breath a bit.

Our longest to date has been 12 days and 2618 miles. We went to Marion, IL to see the eclipse this year (on a friend's family farm). We stopped at Crater of Diamonds in AR on the way up, went to Kansas City, MO after, and then down through Tulsa, OK and home to S. Central TX. Our trip got involuntarily extended because of Harvey; I wasn't willing to get down here and be caught in 50-75 MPH winds, so we stayed 2 extra days in Tulsa waiting for the wind to calm down some. Had a NICE tail wind almost all the way home.

Fall 2016, we went to Colorado Springs. Round trip towing miles totaled about 1800 miles, and we had some miles in CO too.

My wife and I own our own business, and our son is not in school yet, so we are trying to take these kind of trips while we can. Apparently school districts won't accept that you're educating your child outside the classroom...

Maybe not directed at me in particular, but I'll answer anyway.

No. But we had a Towmax (OEM) failure and replaced with Maxxis M8008. Now I have a lot of confidence in my tires.

ETA: We did have a shower drain leak in KC, but I was able to repair the leak on site (I carry LOTS of tools) and I fixed the damage when we got home.

We usually have a couple of 2400-2600 mile trips each season to the southwest over about 8-9 days. We've never had any major issues, though our Andersen hitch did seize up a bit one time and we had a problem with the fridge on the last couple days of a long trip earlier this season.

Having a single-axle trailer I'm very much tuned in to hub temps and tire condition/pressures. I check the hubs at least every fuel stop, often times at rest breaks in between. I check the torque on the lug nuts before each long trip and tire pressures are checked each morning before heading out along with visual inspection. We do have a simple TPMS system for the trailer tires as well. I carry some tools and key spare parts (like bearing kits/seals) just in case but so far haven't had to use them while on the road.

Proactive maintenance is key and I have a list of common things that I check several times throughout the season such as tightness of plumbing connections to faucets and drains, filter cap on top of the water pump, condition of propane burners/thermocouples on the fridge/water heater, etc.

No problems on any recent trip. Had a tire blow a few years ago, but that was because I was trying to get one more trip before I traded the TT.

That sounds awesome. I'd like to do something along that route as well, however my starting point is FL

We used to travel to Hershey park when the kids we younger about a 600 mile round trip for us. Going to attempt Florida which is 2200 miles round trip next year

Our longest was from SC to Burlington, Vt., thru New Hampshire to Bar Harbor, Maine, back to Philly to visit relatives, Richmond and Charlottesville, Va. to visit friends and back home. about a month.

I busted a power steering hose backing into a tight site in Bar Harbor. NAPA was close by. Quick fix. No tire problems. Worst part was I had to buy a tank of diesel in Connecticut, Ran out of diesel 1 mile before our cg exit. Could not find any fuel all day sunday driving. Fortunately we were traveling with a buddy behind me who had a 5 gal. tank. Now I have one.

Our longest trip since we bought our TT this past year has been 11 days and 1600 miles round trip from KS to TN. Hopefully we will be able to accomplish much more in the near future.

Our longest trip was 23 days. This summer. With 6591 km (4096 miles) it was also the longest trip. We covered the Northwest Territories, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

From SoCal thru Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, back thru Utah, Arizona and home.
