What to choose SLX or Jayflight
Got to decide soon, giving up my 2000 Sunline 2363 for a new small trailer, like the 24RBS and also 245RLSW, like most hate giving up electric gas hot water, love floor plan (more) on the 245rlswSLX, but dealer says Jayflight models have so much more to offer. Don't need bells and whistles, but really like black flush and the goodies for husband. Taking ideas, they are waiting at the dealer for choice......stressed here! Oh one more thing we tow with a 5.3 Chev Avalanche so keeping 5k lbs give or take for Lancaster PA hills is important.

For the little extra money, I prefer the Jay Flights and even add in the Elite kit for the porcelain toilet, roof ladder and extra fresh water tank.

My first trailer was a Jay Flight Swift and my current trailer is a Jay Flight Elite. Having the extras now, I would encourage you to go the Jay Flight route as long as it's priced reasonably. The black tank flush is a major bonus - yes you can add it to a Swift but it's a pain and involves cutting and drilling your brand new trailer. The extra water tank is a must for us - when we bought our Swift (approx 45gal fresh) we didn't realize that the majority of Provincial Parks don't have on site water but rather a fill station. We were constantly hauling more water to dump into the RV. Now that we have 90gal we fill once and are usually good for 3-4 days showering included. The roof ladder is also awesome for keeping up on roof inspections and cleaning off the slide/awning before we retract. The porcelain toilet is easier to clean and feels more solid. If I were to purchase again, I would opt for the Elite no question.

Don't forget all weights are without batteries and propane and then add all your stuff. Now your up about another 500+ pounds.

SLX vs. Jayflight
We have a Jayflight 26RLS and love it. Just the wife and myself. Last year my son brought a 28 BHS (SLX model).
The small differences are his does not have a thermostatically controlled AC. You turn it on overhead and its either on or off. It also has a hot water tank that is gas only. No electric. There are some more differences but these are the ones he sees in the Jayflight that he wishes he had.
I believe some of these small items left out of the SLX are so that younger people can get into an RV at lesser cost.

Same problem here! We love the floor plan of the 245RLSW, but there is nothing similar in Jayflight or Eagle. We don't want a 30+ Camper. We would much prefer a 25-28 ft with some nice extras.
The rear window models offer the best view when your camp sight is back in on a lake, river, or mountainside.

Guess I'll be the dissenting voice, only so far as saying that we love our SLX 264BHW. Some of it probably depends upon how much time you'll be spending in it. We're about 20 night a year family right now.

I was just on Jayco's site today comparing models ( 287bhsw & 28 bhbe) both are same exact floor plan and fabrics however some of the minor difference were: SLX lacked additional storage above front bedroom, Shower was single stand up stall, no medicine cabinet in bathroom, no windows of sidewalls of the slide (nice for cross breeze on cool days), lack of 2 drawers and a cabinet near sink area, no TV and cheaper entertainment center, U-shaped dinette lack end doors for ease of access to item under the booth. And looking the two models you like, the differences are consistent. IMHO for the $2500 difference I'd go for the Jayflight 24rbs and thats only my opinion.

Don't just focus on the finish, also look at the construction. The Jay Flight is much more heavy duty as evidenced in the weights:
28BHBE - GVWR = 9250 lbs, Cargo Cap. = 2710 lbs -> "standard frame" - I-class cambered structural steel I-beams
287BHSW - GVWR 7500 lbs, Cargo Cap. = 1410 lbs -> "standard frame - 4-inch cambered steel box tube frame
