Just got back Sunday from a week at Mitchell State Park near Cadillac, MI. It was my maiden voyage in the new Eagle. After some initial trouble with the water pump during de-winterizing (thanks, again, to everyone for the rapid response to my cry for help), absolutely everything in the trailer worked perfectly! None of the tongue jack, slide-out, water pump, water heater, water leak, furnace, or electrical problems I've read about from others. I am so happy with this trailer I could just spit!

Wish I could say the same for the weather: one nice day out of 8. The rest of the time was cold, windy, rainy, and snowy. Not real conducive to turkey hunting . . . or campfires. I had purchased a small, portable electric fireplace/heater, which I set next to the dinette, by the bathroom wall. Ran an extension cord under the carpet flap, out through the slide-out seals, and plugged into the 20A outlet on the campground pedestal. Kept things nice and warm inside the trailer, while saving propane and allowing me to run the microwave, electric water heater, coffee maker without the risk of popping a 30A breaker. Even with the weather and lack of hunting success, it was one of the best camping experiences I've ever had!

Congrats Brownie on your maiden voyage! Be careful running a power cable out the slide seal, you don't want to damage the seal.

We always bring a oil filled radiator heater with us to use in full hookup campgrounds. Saves propane and avoids all the moisture from running the furnace. Makles the TT toasty with that nice dry heat and best of all it's completely silent.

I've done this many times and never ran the cord outside, I just use a receptacle inside. Never popped a breaker. The heaters draw less than the AC when starting.

It is still raining and the water is high. I will be watching it all from my recliner at home.

The vineyards in Grapevine, TX. One of our faves so far and the park is having free 30 minute massage for all mothers.

After a few weeks of false starts and bad weather, this is going to be the week to start the season. Mothers day weekend at Golden Hill State park on Lake Ontario.

We always start our camping season on Mother's Day weekend at Rice Creek Chain of Lakes which is a County Park in Anoka, Minnesota.
http://www.anokacounty.us/967/Camping
It's centrally located for our family members to join us over the weekend to celebrate Mother's Day!!!

This will be our first camping trip this year and our first outting in our new Eagle 314BDS. We are so excited to get this trailer out camping. We will enjoy the extra room this unit offers over our previous JayFlight 25RKS.
