Got my pizza stone on Thursday just in time for our first trip from California pizza kitchen it was purchased from amazon and it fit perfectly and worked excellent!! Now the bad, the jerks at California pizza kitchen shipped it as "media" (books) because the post office apparently gives a discount for "media". The box clearly stated Pizza stone on it while the shipping label they printed says "media". I was initially charged $10 for shipping however the post office did not deliver it I had to pick up. When I picked up they explained the shipping issue and the price difference on shipping was $36!!!! I had two options refuse delivery or pay difference out of pocket. I called amazon and explained the situation and they agreed to refund me the difference and deal with California pizza kitchen so I wouldn't have to so I took delivery but it seems like a shady business practice. A+ for amazon customer service.

Thanks to this thread, we now have a pizza stone in the TT. Never even thought about it until reading here. We actually have a square and a round. We'll use the square to even out heat in the oven and the round (12") for za.

I have a ceramic tile I am going to try this week end. Do you put it directly on the medal, or on the rack?

I just tried ceramic tiles this past weekend with some biscuits. I placed four 4x4" tiles on the metal plate. There was a bit of a gap between the tiles and some of the biscuits burned on the bottom but not all of them. I also bought an oven thermometer to check the accuracy of the oven dial...it was fairly accurate but I let the oven get 25 degrees over temp which may have contributed to the burning.

Pizza Stone for Grayhawk

Considering getting a pizza stone for my oven in the Grayhawk.

What size have you successfully used?

We put ours directly on the metal under the rack. Makes all the difference in the world. Just remember that it takes 15 minutes to preheat. Learned that the hard way.

Our oven would accept a 13 in. round stone that we found on Amazon.
